Best Kale Chip Bake in Bondi with Natasha & Olivia
Kale chips are awesome. So simple, so satisfying, and with more nutrients per calorie than any other food! And so the team at Bondi Baker were beyond excited when gorgeous supermum Natasha and her daughter Olivia dropped by to make arguably the best version of kale chips that we've ever tried. Spicy, crispy, healthy, and easy to make, these are Natasha's standby as a busy Mum looking to serve something quick and nutritous. They are the perfect healthy replacement for crisps, and you can serve these delicious little chips all on their own. Or have fun and get creative like Natasha, and place in beautiful origami cones such as the ones featured above. BB xxx
1 bunch of a mix of Dino Kale and Curly Kale
1 1/2 tablespoon coconut oil
2 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon sweet paprika
Pinch cayenne pepper
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 teaspoon sea salt flakes
The Bondi Baker Method
Step 1- Preheat oven to 140°C (fan).
Step 2- Wash kale under cold water and allow to dry and remove kale leaves from stalks.
Tear leaves into 3cm pieces
Step 3- Combine coconut oil, seeds and spices in a large mixing bowl and add kale to mixture and coat it well with seasoning.
Step 4- Spread out on baking trays and bake for 30 mins until crisp. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Natasha's Tip - Once cool, get creative with how you present them. I’ve used some beautiful origami papers to make mini cones to place smaller amounts in so my daughter can hold and enjoy as well.
